Hello, hello! Welcome back to the Bus Ride Impression and honestly, it feels so good to be back writing reviews and impressions. For quite sometime I have been hounded by relentless deadlines from my real-life job (I consider the hobby as my Utopian paradise) that it held me from writing for quite some time. However, my semi-hiatus allowed me some time to acquire some gems which I think are going to be a joy to read as most of them aren’t exactly something you will easily get within our shores. I will tackle them one by one in the next editions of the BRI. Continue reading “BUS RIDE IMPRESSION: Sony MDR-CD900ST”
Hello! So this is some sort of a sequel of the Rock Jaw Audio Alfa Genus V2 review wherein we will get to tackle how its younger sibling, the Clarito, does in the newbie market. Sure there are some cheaper options for the said IEM, but let’s see how it does in the market proliferated by those cheaper alternatives. Portable electrostats. Wow.
Imagine the possibilities: a portable audio option that can yield some of the inherent qualities of the desktop comrades such as the Stax L500 and the Koss ESP950. Electrostats are known for its amazing speed of resolution, and are often enjoyed in desktop forms. With the SRM-002, we are being allowed with portable options of an erstwhile non-portable gear. Continue reading “BUS RIDE IMPRESSION: Stax SRM-002”
Hello and welcome to another installment of Bus Ride Impression. I am rounding off the last of the three goodies sent over by Lyle and this one is going to be quite an interesting one, the Campfire Audio Andromeda. The Andromeda was the flagship model of CA prior to the release of the Vega and I must say, Campfire did a pretty good job in terms of marketing their brand. One thing that CA capitalized on was the build of their models, which I think should be natural given how tough and solid looking their offers are. In today’s audio world, you will be bombarded by numerous digital audio players (DAPs) in the market that you will often be left in quandary as to which one to choose. It will always be a battle of which offers better sound and value out of your hard earned cash, but at the end of the day, it will always be up to one’s preference. You see, some people will put value in first, as it is natural for someone to look for something worth ripping their wallets for. Some others would not mind the price as long as they get to the sound they really want.
Hello! Welcome to another episode of the Bus Ride Impression!
Why am I so damn jolly? Because today we are going to do a bit of a change in the BRI as most would normally know it. Yeah, I know I have done a shootout before, but that was for the trinity of entry level IEMs offered by Knowledge Zenith. Today, however, is going to be mighty different as I thought it might benefit you, our dear readers, if we will try something a little different. Continue reading “BUS RIDE IMPRESSION: The Budget DAP Shootout”
I had this coming. Fact is, this is long overdue as I have always wanted to have this in one of my Bus Ride Impressions, but was unable to given the onslaught of items to review over the holidays. Plus I have no one to borrow this from. And the wallet already underwent several cardiac arrests due to the holidays so I practically have no budget for one. And the Chief Finance Officer (a.k.a. wife) will no longer allow me to get another one.
So I had to sit this one out. Continue reading “BUS RIDE IMPRESSION: Audio-Technica ATH-MSR7”
One can’t simply define beauty of sound especially based on their own preference. You will have to find it and once found, one will have to look for the IEM that will best match the said signature. Just like a dish, one will have to find the right dish and how it was flavored. Then it will be a quest to find the restaurant to offer such dish.
Thankfully for us audio enthusiasts, this is no longer quite a daunting task as custom in-ear monitors (CIEMs) are pretty much easily accessible and can be found in a lot of countries in the world. This makes our quest for our favored sound a lot easier to find. Continue reading “BUS RIDE IMPRESSION: Advanced-AAW M5”
Fresh off a BRI for the Questyle QP1-R and Aune M1S, I was not expecting for another impression/review for yet another DAP as I thought that the next one might be a good idea if I go for a shootout for $200 DAPs (yes, please standby for it, just amassing materials for that) so I thought I might hold off a DAP review in the meantime. Lo and behold, very good friend John Michael Jalata (Bugoy-Fi!) indulged me with yet another DAP BRI, this time with his Sony PCMD100. Continue reading “BUS RIDE IMPRESSION: Sony PCMD100”
I know this is long overdue, and I know for a fact that a lot has been looking forward to read a take on how these three new hotshots from the Chinese company called Knowledge Zenith or KZ will fare against each other. Sure it is interesting to see comparisons between different IEMs, cans, DAPS, amps or DACs but this is quite even more interesting given the hype these three bad boys was able to generate since they were launched a couple of months back. I mean, let’s face it, given the price of each of these IEMs, these will definitely appeal to a lot of enthusiasts particularly the new ones who would like to venture into the hobby without shelling out blood, sweat and tears just to have one. The question left now is, which one to pick? Continue reading “BUS RIDE IMPRESSION: KZ ZST vs. KZ ZS3 vs. KZ ED12 (A Knowledge Zenith Shootout)”
